One of the most spectacular alpine scenery hikes of the Snoqualmie Pass area.
Drive I-90 east to the Denny Creek exit onto the Denny Creek road, continue 3 miles to the Denny Creek Campground (also popular) Beyond the campground, turn left on the road over the river and follow it 1/4 mile passing private homes. Go to the end of the road where you will find a parking lot. The trail starts here.

The trail will take you under the westbound lanes of I-90 to an area known as the "Bathing Rocks" (Beware of naturalists during mid week). At this point cross the creek and continue up to Keekwulee Falls and later Snowshoe Falls, here the trail is made up of rather steep switch backs for about 1/2 mile. From here you are in a basin that stretches out before you. Eventualy you get to another set of steep switch backs that will take you to Hemlock Pass elevation 4600 feet. Once over the pass, continue to Melakwa Lake and upper Melakwa Lake.
