| Construction begins with the fabrication of the skeg, this module acts as the basis that the rest of the boat will be built on | |
The double bottom tanks are constructed on a metal framework starting with the tank top plating and then the frames |
| Once the framework is in place, the shell plate is installed | |
With the fitting complete, the welders take over. They will go inside every section to completely weld all of the frames and shell. Some spaces require a small welder to get into. |
| The completed module is now ready to lift off the construction jig, it is split in half, separated and pad-eyes are welded for the cranes to attach to. | |
Each section is placed on trucks (wheels) for transport to the shop/ways. |
| The double bottom sections are righted and prepared for installation onto the skeg. | |
The in-house crane carries the first section for installation. |
