Our product:

Our product is available 24/7 with the exception of normal downtimes. the product is compiled from data collected on site with standard weather monitoring equipment. Data is collected as often as once a minute to once a day for annual charts and raw data. Camera images and weather station data, graphs and charts are the sole property of Alpine Computer Service, Tacoma, WA.

Our product consists of:

CAMERAS

    Two camera views, one is a wide angle webcam centered primarily on the sky over central Tacoma pointed East South East. The other camera is a 10X-power "Lenticular Cloud Cam". Both cameras take a still shot once a minute and compile a time lapse video based on each still shot. Each day the video files are archived to a permanent storage area of the server and prepared for access by the public.

WEATHER STATION

    Our weather data is collected from an integrated sensor suite located outdoors. Temp, humidity and rain are measured in the suite 12 feet above the ground and uploaded to the computer every 5 seconds. the Anemometer is 30 feet above ground. Measurements include temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, dew point, rainfall wind speed and direction along with wind chill calculations. The data is presented in three basic ways, raw data in the form of a data.htm file and <ALT Tags>, thermometer style graphs and history graphs. Raw data files are archived daily and made available to the public.
